The Pontyscyttle aqueduct which carries the Llangollen canal & towpath 1000 feet over the River Dee 120 feet below in a narrow iron trough and is both the longest & highest navigable aqueduct in the world.
The lady's pool is a particularly broad stretch of the Kennet and Avon canal designed to look like a lake and forms part of our Kennet and Avon Walk.
The partially restored Lancaster follows an interesting route into the Lake District & passes close to the sea as it provides excellent views of the Cumbrian hills.
1. A written booking confirmation will be sent to you in the post or by e-mail. Please sign and return this to us. Your holiday is not confirmed until we receive a signed copy from you.
2. You must pay a deposit to confirm your holiday – 25% of the total cost of your holiday. The balance is payable 6 weeks before departure. If a booking is made within 6 weeks of booking the full cost must be made at the time of booking. Failure to pay the balance at the appropriate time will lead to the cancellation of your holiday.
3. All customers are fully insured for their initial deposit and subsequently the balance of any monies paid to Meander Walking Holidays
4. You must inform us in writing – by e-mail or post – if you wish to cancel. A cancellation fee applies as follows,
56 – 29 days before | 30% of the total cost is payable |
28 – 15 days before | 50% of the total cost is payable |
14 – 8 days before | 70% of the total cost is payable |
7 days or less | 100% of the total |
More than 56 days before departure your deposit of 25%
5. If you wish to change your itinerary we will do our best to accommodate your requirements. We will charge an administration fee of £25 plus any additional costs such as extra accommodation costs. Changes to the itinerary less than 4 weeks before departure will treated as a cancellation and re-booking.
6. We recommend that you take out adequate travel insurance to cover cancellation, personal accident, illness and loss/theft of personal possessions.
7. We reserve the right to cancel, amend or alter your holiday at any time. We will only do this in unavoidable circumstances and you will be offered a full refund or alternative holiday. We cannot compensate you for costs in connection with your holiday which you have not booked through us.
8. In the unlikely event that you are unhappy within any aspect of your holiday please contact us immediately so that we can address your concerns. Please ensure that any verbal complaints are also put in writing and made within 28 days of your return.
9. We regret we cannot accept any liability or pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of our contractual obligations is prevented or effected, or you otherwise suffer any damage or loss as a result of force majeure. Force majeure means any event which we could not could not with all due care, foresee or avoid, such as but not limited to war, riots, fire and natural disaster.
